Purple Ribbon for Change
In the days following the loss of Laurie, Richard, Cassandra and Jordan the local communit rallied behind this wonderful family. Friends of the children also started a special symbol of remembrance – a purple ribbon (Cassie’s favourite colour) was attached to a puzzle piece (noting Jordan’s battle with autism) for friends and students to wear.
We have adopted the purple ribbon as a touching symbol of the lasting memory of the Hawkins family. We hope it makes you remember Laurie and her family and inspires you to protect your family and
friends from the dangers of CO.
That’s why we call it a “Purple Ribbon for Change.” Change your habits at home to include a heating safety check every fall. Change the alarms you have in your home to include CO alarms. And, change any CO alarms made before 2008 and smoke alarms every 10 years.
